Privacy Policy

Effective 7 October 2026

Harmony holds some of the most personal parts of your life, so we aim to collect only what we need and to be clear about how it is used. This policy explains what [Your legal name or company name] (ABN [Your ABN]) collects, why, who it is shared with and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

1. What we collect

Account details. Your name, email address and login credentials, and the details of the shared “couple” space you create or join, including your partner’s name or email if you invite them.

Content you add. Everything you put into the app: calendar events, tasks, meals and recipes, grocery lists, goals, habits, bills and expenses, savings and budget figures, investments, trips and bookings, event and wedding plans, guests, memories, photos, journal entries, notes, parcels, and your entertainment and board-game lists. Some of this can be sensitive (for example financial details, photos, or dietary and guest information). Please only add what you are comfortable storing.

Billing information. If you subscribe, Stripe collects and processes your payment details. We receive your plan, subscription status and billing dates, but not your full card number.

Information from services you connect. If you choose to connect them, we receive data from services such as Google Calendar (events), PocketSmith (accounts, balances and transactions), Xero, Shopify, Etsy, Square or WooCommerce (venture and sales data), and Alexa (shopping list requests). You can disconnect any of these at any time.

Device and usage information. Basic technical information such as browser type, device, IP address and error logs, and your notification settings and push-notification token if you turn notifications on.

Location. We do not track your location. If you search for places or enter a destination, the text you type is used to look it up.

2. How we use it

  • to provide the app — storing your shared planner, showing it to you and your partner, and sending reminders and notifications you have asked for;
  • to create your Morning Brief, weekly recaps and reminders from your own content;
  • to process subscriptions and manage your plan;
  • to provide AI suggestions (see below) and to look up information such as weather, exchange rates, asset prices, parcel status, film, podcast and book details;
  • to keep the service secure, fix problems and prevent misuse;
  • to contact you about your account, important changes and support requests; and
  • to meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show advertising or use your content to build advertising profiles.

3. Who sees your content

Your shared planner is visible to you and the partner you invite, subject to the settings in the app. We do not make your content public. Some features let you share something deliberately — for example an RSVP link for an event — and in that case the people you send it to can see what you chose to share.

Our staff do not browse your content, but may need to access data to investigate a problem, provide support you ask for, or meet a legal obligation.

4. Service providers and third parties

We use trusted providers to run Harmony. They only receive what they need to do their job:

  • Base44 — hosting, database, file storage and sign-in for the app.
  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
  • Progressier — delivery of push notifications to your device.
  • AI providers — when you use an AI feature (such as recipe, trip or date-idea suggestions, recipe import, or daily prompts), the text needed for that request, for example your preferences or a recipe link, is sent to an AI service to produce a result. We do not use your content to train AI models.
  • Lookup services — for features you use, we send search terms or identifiers to services such as Unsplash (images), Google Places (places and photos), TMDB (film and TV), Apple’s iTunes search (podcasts), BoardGameGeek (board games), tracking providers (parcels), and price and exchange-rate sources. These requests contain the thing you searched for, not your wider account.
  • Services you connect — Google, PocketSmith, Xero, Shopify, Etsy, Square, WooCommerce and Amazon Alexa, only when you choose to link them.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect people’s safety, or as part of a sale or restructure of the business (in which case we will make sure it stays protected by this policy or tell you first).

4A. Financial data from PocketSmith

If you connect PocketSmith, you authorise Harmony to read your accounts, balances, transactions, categories and budgets so we can show them in your planner.

  • We do not sell your PocketSmith data, and we do not share it with anyone other than the service providers needed to run the app (listed above, including Base44 as our hosting and database provider, which holds our credentials and your connection tokens on our behalf).
  • We request read access only. We never move money or change anything in your PocketSmith account.
  • Your connection tokens are stored on our servers only and are never sent to your browser or included in app code.
  • When you disconnect, we delete your connection tokens and remove the data we derived from PocketSmith, such as net-worth history and links between savings goals and accounts. You can also revoke access from your PocketSmith account at any time.
  • If a security incident affects PocketSmith data, we will notify PocketSmith (api@pocketsmith.com) within 72 hours.
  • Harmony is an independent product. It is not built by, endorsed by or affiliated with PocketSmith.

5. Overseas storage

Our providers may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to make sure the provider handles your information in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

6. Security

Access to your shared planner is limited to the accounts in your couple, data is transmitted over encrypted connections, and we limit who can access production systems. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and keep your login details private. If a breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as the law requires.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. You can delete individual items at any time, and you can delete your whole shared planner from the settings in the app, which permanently removes your planner and its content from our active systems. Backups and logs may take a short time to clear, and we may keep limited billing and account records for as long as the law requires.

If you downgrade your plan, your shared data is not deleted.

8. Your choices and rights

  • You can see and edit your information in the app.
  • You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it.
  • You can turn push notifications off in the app or your device settings, and disconnect any linked service.
  • You can delete your shared planner or ask us to delete your account.

Email [your support email] for any of these. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days. If you are not happy with how we handle your information, please contact us first; you can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

9. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and similar browser storage that are needed to keep you signed in and remember your settings. We do not use them for advertising.

10. Children

Harmony is for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed at children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app or by email. The effective date at the top shows when it was last updated. See also our Terms of Use.
